Since 2016, Navigator Capital GmbH has been active as an investment holding company based in Munich and offices in London, Paris and Zurich. It is a private equity partnership specialized in companies with increased management requirements. In particular, it is focused on parts of the company that are not part of the vendor’s core business and individual successor arrangements. The goal is always to move into a sustainable growth path. Any residual restructuring needs are covered by the relevant experience in the partnership.

While we focus our deal sourcing on the German-speaking countries as well as Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, France and Italy, we are open for proposals from other markets.
We are hands-on. Due diligence, strategic analysis and the development of a well-founded and detailed business continuity concept are done in-house. Post transaction, we closely manage carve-out and restructuring, thus providing the portfolio company with expertise and manpower in a time of change.
The seller is our customer – During the transaction process we aim to understand the needs and intentions of the seller and to develop a structure that fits optimally.
We are discrete and co-ordinate our communication strategy with the seller, also post transaction.
We take on responsibility for our portfolio companies and act in their best interest. It is our goal to build companies with sustainable profitability.
Velocity is important – our setup enables really quick investment decisions. If needed we can prepare a binding offer and be ready for signing/closing within very little time. We will be ready to start implementation at day one.
Understanding is the key for success – We only accept projects where we can add value. During due diligence we conduct a thorough analysis of the situation.
By closing of the transaction we will have understood the problems, risks and opportunities and will have developed a well-founded and realistic business continuity concept including a detailed restructuring budget.

Christian Muschick is the co-founder and managing director of Navigator Capital.
Christian started his career in strategy consulting before moving into investment banking with senior positions at Equinet and Silvia Quandt & Cie. AG where he acted as Deputy Head of Research and COO of Silvia Quandt Research.
At Callista Private Equity GmbH & Co. KG he was one of the partners. There, he built up the deal sourcing team while participating in a number of restructuring projects at portfolio companies. He successfully headed Callista’s first international industrial carve-out and restructuring project as Managing Director of PCH Group.
In early 2016 he started to form a team of seasoned restructuring and M&A experts to establish Navigator Capital GmbH as a new private equity boutique.
Ferdinand Mirow is the co-founder and partner of Navigator Capital.
He started his career as a controller at H.C.Starck, contributing to the carve-out and following sale of the company to The Carlyle Group and Advent International. Implementing a new cost controlling system and contributing to the implementation of a new SAP as well as the optimization of purchasing processes had been parts of his responsibilities. Additionally, he was in charge of sales reporting, the budgeting process, bank and general reporting.
After that he joined B2X Care GmbH, a logistics company with close ties to Blackberry’s after sales business, in comparable function.
Prior to Navigator Capital, he became Commercial Manager/CFO of Studio Halle Group, where he initiated and managed the restructuring process and successfully negotiated financial terms with banks, partners and customers.
Dr. Jochen Brinkmann
Jochen Brinkmann is the co-founder and Partner of Navigator Capital GmbH. He studied business administration at Kiel University, where he also wrote his PhD.
Since more than 20 years he has been collecting experiences as interim manager and strategy and restructuring consultant.
He started at Roland Berger and prior to Navigator Capital was partner and managing director at hww Unternehmensberater GmbH.
He teaches at universities in Germany in Austria. and serves as member of the advisory board of a media fund.
Dietmar Gundel is a partner of Navigator Capital GmbH in Zurich. He studied Business Administration at the University of Bayreuth and did a Master in Management at ESCP Europe in Oxford, Madrid and Paris.
He started his professional career as member of the international M&A advisory team at Rothschild & Cie. in Frankfurt and Paris and worked among others on transactions in the financial services, information technology, health care and retail sectors.
He then moved into biotech. As a co-founder and CFO of CallistoGen AG and as member of the Executive Management and VP Corporate and Business Development at The Genetics Company, Zurich, Dietmar worked on venture capital fund raisings, pharma-biotech collaborations, new business development, M&A transactions and corporate restructurings. Dietmar was also senior equity analyst at SAM Sustainable Asset Management where he advised on investments in international public healthcare companies.
Since 2010, Dietmar focuses his work on classical M&A advisory, financial restructurings and project finance for infrastructure projects.
Garret Byrne is a partner of Navigator Capital GmbH in Prague.
Garret is a seasoned advisor specialized in Corporate Finance, M&A and due diligence. Originally from Ireland, Garret has been based in Prague and working in Central Europe since 1992. Garret has been an independent advisor and held positions in EY, Arthur Andersen and at Deloitte where he was a Partner and built up the Central Europe M&A Transaction Services business and focus on Private Equity. Garret has advised international private equity and corporate clients on mergers & acquisitions and financing in several sectors including manufacturing, automotive, healthcare, telco, software, retail, energy, real estate and travel.
Garret holds a B.A. in Economics from University College Dublin, a post-graduate diploma in professional accounting from Dublin City University and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
